Northern Strands is a proud supporter of The Make-A-Wish Charity. An employee-driven Committee has been established to drive fund-raising while keeping in mind the other areas of social responsibility. Paper, pop cans, containers and batteries are recycled and funds collected are deposited into the charity fund. Additional funds are raised through yard cleanup with scrap steel and other reusable goods being sent to auction. The Group of Companies holds several fund-raising BBQ's throughout the summer; employees are encouraged to participate and volunteer to help with the activities during the event. Our goal each year is to raise enough money to grant one full Wish.

The Northern Strands Group of Companies is proud to sponsor the BHP Enchanted Forest Annual Holiday Light Tour. The Enchanted Forest is a unique holiday event at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park that supports the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation and the City Hospital Foundation. The BHP Enchanted Forest Holiday Light Tour is one of the major fundraisers for these two causes, raising more than $250,000 every year. The Northern Strands Group of companies has been able to sponsor the Christmas Poinsettias Display, which has been a favorite for many over the past 21 years.
